OSSE Reads for the Record

Yesterday at Savoy Elementary School, Superintendent Jésus Aguirre along with OSSE staff participated in Read for the Record Day, a nationwide campaign to promote early childhood education. Members of OSSE staff also read to children at Arts and Technology Academy PCSCenter City PCS PetworthBright Beginnings, and House of Ruth.

Children listened eagerly to our staff as they all read Otis by Loren Long, the official book of Read for the Record. Along with our staff, volunteers across the nation read to an estimated 9 million children and provided 1.2 million books for children in low-income neighborhoods.
