USDA commends the District of Columbia’s commitment for ranking first in the nation for serving the highest percentage of eligible children through its Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for eight consecutive years, and providing the nutritious meals children need so they are ready to learn when they return to school.
The Wellness & Nutrition Services team is doing everything possible to provide summer meals to every DC child who needs them. In 2012, over 90% of children who received a free or reduced-price lunch through the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs (NSLP) also received summer meals.
Thank you Wellness and Nutrition Services for your continued support of the Child Nutrition Programs and for the services you provide to the children of the District of Columbia.
